Three generations of Swiss confiseurs have made André’s one of America’s premier chocolatiers since 1955. After they make fresh squeezed orange juice for their Tea Room & Café, they use the peels to create this luxurious confection!
Andre’s dark chocolate orange peels have been praised as the best of its kind. Fresh oranges are peeled and candied in-house to ensure a maximum burst of flavor. This multi-step process begins with orange peels blanched in salt water (to soften), then candied in simple syrup for several days in a low-temperature oven (to preserve the peel and add sweetness). The peels are then covered three times in Andre’s signature Swiss dark chocolate.
