Pan de Higo is simply pressed dried figs shaped into a round cake. Slice into thin wedges, it is the perfect (and traditional) accompaniment with cheese in Spain. Try fig cake drizzled with honey, chunk up into salads, over ice cream, or even as a garnish over sticky buns. Enjoy a wedge with a cup of coffee or a glass of sherry.
Available in three varieties:
- Original: Moist, succulent dried figs are simply crushed and then pressed together to form this sweet fig cake. Soft and naturally delicious. Partner with cheese or charcuterie. You can even add this to a blue cheese and walnut salad.
- Almond:Dried, but juicy figs are crushed and pressed together creating this sweet, but not sugary, fig cake. The additions of crushed almonds add a perfect texture and a subtle nuttiness to the sweetness of the figs.
- Mixed Fruit: Topped with mixed fruit and nuts, the texture and flavors of this fig cake are one-of-a-kind. Like the rest of the “La Gruta del Sol” fig cakes, this product is moist and exploding with flavor.
