Over 2700 years ago the Phoenicians established salt pans on the west coast of Sicily, from Trapani to Marsala. Today, salt derived from this Salt Road (Via del Sale) is synonymous, the world over, with high quality sea salt. This completely natural product is produced through the evaporation of sea water from the open air salt ponds fed by the Mediterranean Sea.
For over 70 years, Borrometi has been selecting the very best of this “white gold” and packaging it in Ragusa. Their handcrafted sea salt is natural and untreated, made by traditional methods, thus retaining its valuable nutrients. It has beautiful white grains with intense flavor and subtle sweetness that make it an ideal finishing salt.
